'Survivor: Kaôh Rōng' updates: Aubry's last-minute decision will be a game-changer for future episodes, Jeff Probst reveals

Aubry Bracco from Survivor: Kaôh Rōng CBS

A sudden change of mind ended Peter Baggenstos's journey to become the Sole Survivor on "Survivor: Kaôh Rōng." But viewers of the long-running reality show are wondering if Aubry Bracco made the best decision in voting for her fellow Gondol transferee to be kicked off the island.

In episode 6 of the current season, Gondol lost to Chan Loh during the immunity challenge, where the tribes had to run on an obstacle course and two of the tribe members had to move the wooden blocks across a net. This left them with no choice but to face the Tribal Council to pick which among them should go home.

Former Chan Loh members Aubry and Joe Del Campo wrote Julia Sokolowski's name on their ballots. But at the last minute, Aubry changed her mind and crossed out her first choice and wrote Peter's name instead. Since Julia, Tai Trang, and Scot Pollard already voted against him, the additional vote from Aubry determined that he should be the one to be eliminated this week.

While fans of the reality competition are not sure if Aubry made the best decision, host Jeff Probst told Entertainment Weekly that there were things that prompted her to come up with her choice that never made it to national TV.

"Everybody gets asked questions, so everybody has an opportunity to help or hurt themselves. This Tribal was yet another turning point in the game, and it was electric to witness it in person," Probst explained.

The host also said that Aubry's move will become a turning point for her stay on the Cambodian island.

"She started out on day 1 in tears, overwhelmed by the elements. She survived and is starting to really blossom as a player. Changing your vote at Tribal is a giant move. You can't be any more active and alive than that -- and I loved it," Probst stated.

Probst also teased that the upcoming episode will be epic, since there will be several strategies that will be developed as well as other bold steps that will be revealed as the challenges for this season become tougher for all the remaining players on the island.

The next epsiode of "Survivor: Kaôh Rōng" airs on Wednesday, March 30, on CBS.
