The CW has released the official promo for the comeback of "Supergirl" season 3 after a nine-week hiatus. The upcoming episode 14, titled "Schott Through the Heart," will feature the aftermath of the Toyman's (Henry Czerny) death. Also, the superheroine of National City, Kara Danvers/Supergirl (Melissa Benoist), will have to deal with two Worldkillers on the loose that are threatening to destroy the planet.
According to the official synopsis of "Supergirl" season 3 episode 14, the mother of Winn Schott (Jeremy Jordan) will return on the day of the Toyman's funeral. It is quite interesting how Winn's mother, to be played by "Roseanne" actress Laurie Metcalf, will find the time to visit the wake of her estranged husband, knowing how wicked the man was.
Although, Winn's mother has an important message to tell his son and all others who believe that the city is safe, now that the Toyman is gone.
Little does everyone know that a new villain is lurking around, planning to finish what the Toyman has started. The unnamed character, to be portrayed by "Grey Anatomy" star Brooke Smith, will have an encounter with Will in "Supergirl" season 3 episode 14.
Aside from the Toyman's successor, "Supergirl" season 3 episode 14 will continue Kara's mission to stop Reign (Odette Anable) and Purity (Krys Marshall) from their plans to conquer the Earth.
Previously, Kara and her allies tried to capture Julia Freeman, who was later on revealed to be another Worldkiller named Purity, Reign's sister. Kara hoped that Purity would join her team in order to defeat the season's main villain, but the Worldkiller thought of the authorities' invitation to take her in their custody as an act of aggression.
The worst part of this is that Purity ultimately decided to join forces with Reign in destroying the world. With two Worldkiller that are more powerful than Kara, it will be a challenge for the Kryptonian heroine to protect the people.
"Supergirl" season 3 episode 14 will be aired on April 16, 8 p.m. EST, on The CW.
