Next week's episode of "Supergirl" will feature Kara/Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) and Maggie (Floriana Lima) working together as they deal with a situation that puts the life of Alex (Chyler Leigh) in jeopardy.
After a month of hiatus, "Supergirl" season 2 finally resumed airing its latest episode last Monday, April 24. And, as the series gears up for its season finale next month, things are getting more exciting for The CW DC superhero series, with its upcoming episode 19 featuring Alex being kidnapped and Supergirl getting blackmailed by his sister's abductor.
"Hello, Supergirl. Walk into prison and break my father out within the next 36 hours or your sister will die," the kidnapper tells Supergirl in the promo teaser of the upcoming episode.
As the promo teaser shows Alex in a sealed box gradually being filled with water, the kidnapper is heard saying that he spent a year planning Alex's abduction. The next scene shows a computer monitor playing Alex's video message for her sister, saying, "You cannot allow yourself to be blackmailed. Supergirl is bigger than me."
In an interview, Leigh revealed that next week's episode of "Supergirl" will be big for both her Alex's character. Apart from featuring the rescue on her character, Leigh revealed that "Supergirl" season 2 episode 19 will also highlight how deep the relationships among the characters in the series are.
"It causes Kara and Maggie to have to rely on each other to figure out what happened to Alex. You have to see how they work together, and you have to see how they're both fighting for the person that they love, that they care about, and how that can take a toll if you have differing opinions, different ways that you kill aliens," Leigh said in an interview with Superhero Insider.
