More characters are expected to come out for "Super Smash Bros 4," according to game director Masahiro Sakurai.

Source Gaming, a website dedicated to Bandai Namco's long-running fighting game, recently spotted an article in Japanese gaming publication Famitsu Weekly, where Sakurai divulged his plans to incorporate new playable characters for a better "Super Smash Bros. 4" gaming experience.

Sakurai revealed in that article that a poll called Smash Bros Fghter Ballot was put up in the official Smash for Wii U/ 3DS website, and they received a very large turnout of votes, stating the names of the characters that players would want to see in the game.

The game director admitted that Ryu from the "Street Fighter" series, Lucas from "MOTHER 3," and "Fire Emblem: Binding Blade's" Roy were already part of the planned characters, but they are still looking forward for more names in the ballot to see which characters should be added to the game.

While Ryu made his debut in "Super Smash Bros. 4" for the first time in the series, both Lucas and Roy had been featured in previous "Smash" installments — "Super Smash Bros Melee" for Roy and "Super Smash Bros Brawl" for Lucas.

The game developers created separate introductory trailers for each of the three new characters. Ryu's trailer also discusses his unique controls for the game, such as choosing his attack styles by how long the player will hold the console's buttons. All the trailers can be seen at the game's official website.

Aside from the characters, there are also three new stages and nine new costumes. Sakurai also mentioned the other contents in "Super Smash Bros."

"In addition, there's the Suzaku Castle stage, which came bundled with Ryu. There's Miiverse, a Wii U-exclusive stage which works in conjunction with the actual Miiverse to show various messages during your battles. There's Dreamland 64, revived from the first Smash game. As they are new stages, numerous songs have been added as well. Finally, there are Mii Fighter costumes, including collaborative costumes from the Virtua Fighter and Tekken series, and more," the game creator said.

The ballot is scheduled to end in Oct. 3.
