Konami Holdings Corporation, the developer and publisher of the game "Super Bomberman R," announced that the once Nintendo Switch-exclusive game will be making its way to the PlayStation 4 (PS4), Xbox One and Microsoft Windows personal computer (PC) via Steam on June 12.
The official Twitter account for Konami Digital Entertainment Inc. announced the news via a Twitter post on Mar. 15. Moreover, Konami announced the upcoming "Super Bomberman R" version for the three platforms will be called "Shiny Edition," which will include limited-time downloadable content (DLC) as well as platform-exclusive characters.
IGN reported that Konami collaborated with Sony Interactive Studio, Microsoft and Valve to provide players with the earlier mentioned platform-exclusive characters. For PlayStation 4 users, Konami will be giving away the exclusive duo team up, Ratchet Bomber and his friend Clank, to save the galaxy. For Xbox One users, Konami will be giving away the exclusive ultimate soldier Master Chief Bomber, who is known as "SPARTAN-II Supersoldier," sporting his state-of-the-art combat armor called "Mjolnir."
As for Steam users, Konami will be giving away P-body Bomber who happens to be the taller half of an android duo created for the Cooperative Testing Initiative. P-body is also given the pet name "Orange" from GLaDOS which it earned from its orange Aperture Science Handheld Portal Device.
Polygon reported that Konami will be adding a Golden Vic Viper Bomberman and all eight original Bombers in their new Shiny forms for those who pre-order the digital version of "Super Bomberman R" or purchase the physical version of the "Shiny Edition."
According to VG247, "Super Bomberman R" features an up to eight-player battle mode (for both local and online) in a last man standing-style match. The game also features a Grand Prix mode where teams composed of up to three players battle against each other in different arena stages, utilizing characters with special abilities. Moreover, the game also features a story mode with 50 stages which players can enjoy in either single-player or cooperative gameplay (co-op) modes.
"Super Bomberman R" will retail at $39.99 for all three platforms.
