Amanda Waller's ragtag group of antihero called the Suicide Squad will duke it out against a very familiar hero in the big screen after all.
New details about the group's opponent was released along with a photo of the group of bad guys including Harley Quinn, Killer Croc, Katana, Rick Flagg, Captain Boomerang and Deadshot, who look especially fearsome when huddled together.
After dealing with Superman and the monstrous Doomsday in "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice," Batman will be squaring off against the Suicide Squad.
The Caped Crusader's portrayer Ben Affleck will be appearing in the movie and director David Ayer revealed how thrilled he was watching the actor doing his Batman magic on set.
"We made him fight," Ayer told USA Today. "[Ben Affleck is] awesome (as Batman). You really sense that but for the grace of God, he himself would be doing some really foul stuff out in the world," the filmmaker gushed. Affleck, on the other hand, is also happy about his Batman stint in "Suicide Squad."
"It felt like I have such a cool cousin. This thing that is so awesome is somehow related to me, and that was really exciting because it started to feel like a constellation of things, and I've never had that feeling," the award-winning actor explained in the same USA Today interview.
Affleck was careful not to spill the beans about the much-awaited ensemble movie for fear he breaches his "mile long" NDA with Warner Bros.
While new details about "Suicide Squad," albeit small, continue to come to light, Warner Bros. keeps things on a lid when it comes to Jared Leto's Joker, whom everyone is dying to see and is definitely a huge element that could make or break the film.
A lot of pressure is riding on Leto nailing the depiction but Ayer tried to douse the worries, saying Leto is "the king of Planet Joker."
"Suicide Squad" will be out Aug. 5, 2016 but fans will first see Affleck in action as the Dark Knight in "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" on March 25.
