Things will get even more terrifying when "Stranger Things" returns for its sophomore season this fall.
"Stranger Things" fans still have to wait a few months before the show returns, but star Millie Bobby Brown recently offered some teasers on what to expect from season 2. Although she tried to keep her statements vague, the 13-year-old actress let a few details slip while talking about the show during a red-carpet interview.
"You're going to have to wait and see," she said when a reporter asked about her character's fate. "I'm very bad at acting when I'm lying. You've just got to watch it. It's very good, very funny. You'll see . . ."
Brown also confirmed that the series will take on a darker tone next season. "It's a lot different from season one, you're going to like it a lot more than season one," she continued.
Season 1 focused heavily on the show's main characters: Will (Noah Schnapp), Eleven (Brown), Mike (Finn Wolfhard), Dustin (Gaten Matarazzo) and Lucas (Caleb McLaughlin). However, the upcoming installment will be different since it will let viewers know more about the supporting characters and how they cope with the recent changes in Hawkins.
"They're all very emotionally scarred," Matarazzo said in a recent interview. "They feel alone because their best friend [Will] is back and he's not acting like their best friend anymore. He's changed."
The freshman season left off with Will finally returning to his family after being trapped in the Upside Down. While everybody was happy that he returned, the finale's last scene showed Will throwing up some slimy slugs — indicating that something was wrong with him.
In other news, "Stranger Things" won the trophy for Show of the Year at the 2017 MTV Movie & TV Awards this weekend. Several members of the show's cast were present to receive the award, including Shannon Purser, who plays the fan-favorite character Barb.
The second season of "Stranger Things" premieres Tuesday, Oct. 31, on Netflix.
