After learning in the previous episode that he can fly, Steven will try to put his newfound powers to good use in the next episode of "Steven Universe" season 3.

Based on the events in episode 6 called "Steven Floats," Steven discovered that he can fly while he was on his way to Sadie's shop to get the very first donut of the day. But his new power prevented him from arriving at the shop on time.

But for the upcoming episodes for the rest of the season, Steven is expected to learn more about his capabilities.

Speaking with the Los Angeles Times, series creator Rebecca Sugar revealed that they have always planned to allow Steven to explore.

"We had always planned on having the world kind of open up in front of [Steven] because the entire show was supposed to be metaphorical to moving from childhood into adulthood and suddenly understanding what's going on around you," the series creator said.

Sugar explained that they wanted to be sure that the plot of the animated show could talk directly to young kids who are about to become young adults.

"Because we were talking to kids who were growing up as we were writing the show and, I think, also guiding people through sort of what it takes to go deeper and understand someone."

Meanwhile, Cartoon Network chief content officer Rob Sorcher has announced the network's plans to expand the "Steven Universe" franchise into other platforms outside the animation show. At the moment, "Steven Universe" already ventured into books, a mobile game and comics.

According to the Cartoon Network executive, the series creator and the rest of the "Steven Universe" production was really excited about bringing the show to other platforms.

"That's why [the 'Steven Universe' game] 'Attack the Light' was so successful, because they collaborated at the beginning of that process and they were in it in a creative way. In the end, the creative wins," he said.

But if Sugar will have her way, she would want to see "Steven Universe" collaborate with more musical artists after working with Estelle, Nicki Minaj, Aimee Mann, and Patti LuPone. "I'd love to make an album, that's something I'm always hoping [for]," the series creator said.

More episodes of "Steven Universe" season 3 are expected to come out after summer.
