Amidst reports that Stephen Collins shot himself inside the house on the wake of his child molestation scandal, the actor is said to be doing well according to the police.

The false report became viral after former "Baywatch" cast member Donna D'Errico posted the news on Twitter.

The actress, who lives several houses away from Collins' house, told her Twitter followers, "That guy from 7th Heaven lives right around the corner from me & just shot himself a few minutes ago..."

The tweet came after the LAPD rushed to their neighborhood early Wednesday morning after alleged gunshots coming from the actor's house were heard from the outside.

D'Errico posted additional information a few minutes after, saying, "That's all I know, the police have cordoned the street off and aren't even letting residents in."

However, the authorities denied the validity of the report.

Lt. Robert Davis from the LAPD West Valley divulged to the Daily News that it was indeed the actor's residence, but there was no shooting incident that happened.

"There was a news crew outside that heard a sound inside the residence that sounded like a pop, and they thought it might have been a gunshot. We investigated and ultimately determined that Mr. Collins is alive and well. He was never even there," the officer narrated.

The police officer also stated that they have talked to the actor over the phone, and he is well and good.

D'Ericco had already deleted her earlier Twitter posts, and apologized for causing a false alarm.

"I just tweeted out what I was being told by my neighbor who were on scene. I apologize for tweeting what I'd heard before confirming it, (sic)," the former Playboy model wrote.

Collins, more popularly known for his role as Reverend Eric Camden from the widely popular TV series 7th Heaven, is embroiled in a child molestation scandal after an audio recording that contains his admission to several counts of child molestation was leaked to the media.

His case is being investigated by the NYPD Special Victims Unit. Allegedly, Collins had sexually molested a young black girl during the 1970s and exposed his private parts to two other young girls between the ages of 11 to 13 on different occasions.
