Steam Fall Sale 2014 starts Nov. 26: Deals and game discounts for two weeks

 PayPal

PayPal unveiled that the 2014 Steam Autumn Sale will start later this week.  The international online payment system announced the exact dates for the annual sale period before Valve made the announcement.

VG247 published the email sent by PayPal to announce the upcoming Steam Autumn Sale, which reads:

"Save on thousands of games during Steam's Fall Sale starting November 26. Now's the time to stock up on Steam Wallet Codes from the PayPal Digital Gift Store, so when the sale starts, you're ready to buy games for yourself, friends and family. And remember by choosing PayPal - the simpler safer way to shop for digital games - you choose cheer."

The Thanksgiving sale period will allegedly run until Cyber Monday, which falls on Dec. 1, which is consistent with the past Steam Autumn Sale event that lasted for almost a week.

There are no announcements yet on which items will be on sale, but the seasonal Steam bargain events normally displays a wide range of titles to choose from, where gamers can have a grand time selecting games that they can download for themselves or for gift-giving.

Those who will be going away for the Thanksgiving weekend need not worry since there will be an opportunity for them to avail discounted games through the Steam mobile app.

However, CinemaBlend warns those who will decide to buy a few items during the event that there will be some lag or downtime during the downloading period since Steam will be overwhelmed with high traffic during the sale timeframe. This will be especially true during the event's opening day.

In last year's Steam Autumn Sale, around seven million users were trying to make purchases at the same time. To avoid such problems, shoppers can try to download the chosen games during an off-peak hour.

Aside from the Autumn Sale, Steam will also offer a series of Flash Sales that will last for just 8 hours.
