Avid Star Wars fans are excited to see the "Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens" panel and presentation at this year's San Diego Comic-Con, especially after rumors surfaced that a new trailer showing Luke Skywalker will be showcased during the event. However, Entertainment Weekly advices fans to not set their expectations too high, since the publication discovered that Lucasfilm will not be presenting a new trailer or any clip from the movie.

However, it does not mean that the 2015 SDCC "Star Wars Episode VII" panel will not be any good. The movie outfit is still expected to reveal a lot of other surprises in its panel slot beginning 5:30 p.m. on Friday, July 10, at the legendary Hall H of the San Diego Convention Center.

Filmmaker J.J. Abrams will be joining the panel that will be moderated by "Talking Dead" host and Nerdist impresario Chris Hardwick. Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy and the film's screenwriter Lawrence Kasdan will be there as well. Several cast members of the film are also expected to appear in the upcoming press panel, but the names are still unconfirmed at the moment.

The panel will also present a behind-the-scenes look at the film, while "Star Wars: Aftermath" writer Chuck Wendig will also be present to talk about his own experiences with the galaxy far, far away. However, the author will not be discussing the contents of his upcoming book that will center on the battles between the Empire and the Rebellion after the events in the "Return of the Jedi," since they want to keep the details under wraps until the book comes out on Sept. 4.

The new official Star Wars toy line from Funko, Hasbro, Hallmark, Lego, Jakks Pacific, Plasticolor, and others will also be displayed during the Star Wars presentation at the San Diego Comic-Con this year.

"Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens" will premiere on Dec. 18.
