Sony Xperia Z5 Compact issues: Remedy for touchscreen problems

Sony Mobile recently announced that it will roll out a software that will fix issues hounding the white Sony Xperia Z5 Compact.

In the official community forum for Sony Xperia users, several owners of the compact variant of Sony's latest flagship reported that its touchscreen experienced several issues. But interestingly, only the white model of the device was affected by the issues.

One of the reported issues that the white Sony Xperia Z5 Compact allegedly has is the repeated input of a letter even if it was pressed only once. Others also encountered difficulty scrolling down the screen as well as accidental dialing of a contact's number even if the user only wanted to scroll through the page.

Sony Mobile listened to the users' problems and recently posted that it has already looked through the reports and would provide a permanent solution to the problem.

"We are aware of reports of a limited number of customers experiencing touch input issues on their white Xperia™ Z5 Compact devices," the Japanese mobile device manufacturer said. "By gathering information and analysing returned devices we have found the root cause and will release a new software to improve the user experience on your white Z5 Compact. Other colour versions of the Xperia™ Z5 Compact are not affected by this issue."

Sony also mentioned that the software update for this issue can be seen in the PC Companion and Bridge for Mac support software starting on week 44, or Oct. 26 onwards. However, it did not mention the actual schedule of the software's release since the timing varies according to the region and/or mobile network operator.

Meanwhile, Sony India recently revealed that its flagship smartphone product line, including the Sony Xpeira Z4 Dual and the Sony Xperia Z5 Premium Dual, will be released in the region starting Nov.7.
