After years of silence, the awaited video game "Skytorn" will be making a return. The game was first announced in 2014 but never went on to see the light of day. The release date was eventually moved to 2017, however, the game was once again delayed and put on hiatus so the developers could work on another video game project titled "Celeste."
"Celeste" will be released sometime in January of 2018, and according to PC Gamer, now that "Celeste" is done, Noel Berry and his team will be able to focus on finishing "Skytorn".
In an interview with PC Gamer, Berry said, that their next goal would be to focus on revisiting "Skytorn" and getting it done. However, he went on to say that it would take some time. There is still a lot the team needs to do in terms of finishing up the game and no specific dates have yet to be given.
Those curious about catching a glimpse of the game, however, can look at the PlayStation 4 trailer was released on Dec. 6, 2014.
When the game was first announced in 2014, the developers stated that it would be a procedurally-generated action-adventure game with a heavy focus on exploration. The game would take place in post-apocalyptic world centuries after a mysterious cataclysm put an end to the earth as humans knew it. The world was destroyed and humans took the skies to live their lives, living aboard airships as they travel across what is left of the broken world in search of both survivors and artifacts.
Players will take control of an explorer named Névoa as she journeys across uncharted islands. Névoa dreams of charting her own path in life and exploring and armed with nothing but her trusty shovel, she makes it across the floating islands and overcomes a slew of obstacles and enemies.
Whether or not Berry and his team will be making changes to the game's main concept remains to be seen.
