'Sense8' season 2 update: 5-year series plan confirmed

Kala (Tina Desai) and Wolfgang (Max Riemelt) in Netflix's "Sense8" Netflix

Fans of "Sense8" were given a special treat on Aug. 8, as Netflix announced that the sci-fi drama will be back for a sophomore season.

The online entertainment service provider posted the announcement on its official Twitter account without revealing other information regarding the second season of the series.

But long before the season 2 confirmation, series creators J. Michael Straczynski and the Wachowski siblings Andy and Lana told Collider that they already have plans for the show's return, in case Netflix decides to bring the show back online.

According to Straczynski, the five-year plot of the series has already been conceptualized.

"We already have the second season worked out in great detail. And then, we have rough notes for the next three years, beyond that. I need to know where I'm going," the series co-creator said.

Straczynski also explained that he normally begins writing toward the ending of the series so that he can have an outline of the plot.

At the moment, the series creators have not divulged their plans for "Sense8" season 2. However, speculations from various sites like News Everyday discussed how the series will progress next season.

One of the most prevalent plot speculations that was posted online is the dynamics between fellow sensates Kala (Tina Desai) and Wolfgang (Max Riemelt), as well as Kala's arranged fiancé Rajan (Purab Kohli). Despite the obvious connection between the German locksmith and pharmacist from India, Wolfgang had to push Kala away because he believes that he is a monster and he can go on a killing rampage when angered. He advised Kala to get back with Rajan, so she can have a safer future.

Will Kala take Wolfgang's advice and marry a man that she never loved?

Netflix is expected to reveal the official release date of "Sense8" season 2 soon.
