'Scandal' season 4 midseason premiere preview: Kerry Washington teases big Olivia Pope update via Twitter

It seems like fans are not the only ones missing Olivia Pope during "Scandal" season 4's winter hiatus because actress Kerry Washington cannot help herself but reveal a few details about what is in store for her character in the upcoming episodes of the hit political thriller.

"Today while playing Olivia Pope I did something that I've never done before and something else that I haven't done in a LOOOONG time," the critically acclaimed actress told her fans via Twitter.

Although this can mean a lot of things, fans are now busy speculating what the 37-year-old actress means in her recent spoiler. Does this have something to do with Olivia's relationship with either Fitz (Tony Goldwyn) or Jake (Scott Foley)? Will she finally choose between the two once the season returns next month?

Goldwyn also recently revealed that his character will do everything to have Olivia back in his life, especially since somebody took her away during the midseason cliffhanger.

"It's definitely all hands on deck to find her [when the show returns], but I can't tell you where we leave here. That's a really great surprise," the actor said.

Does this mean that Fitz is now ready to lose his wife Mellie (Bellamy Young)?

But if what Washington divulged is somehow connected to Olivia's state during the midseason finale of "Scandal" season 4, it could mean that the actress had to shoot lots of action-packed scenes or even wear several prosthetics because of the show.

Maybe this also has something to do with Olivia's father Rowan (Joe Morton), who she almost killed back in season 4 episode 9 titled "Where the Sun Don't Shine." Will she finally complete her unfinished task?

The midseason premiere of "Scandal" season 4 is extra special, especially since it is acclaimed series creator Shonda Rhimes herself who wrote the upcoming episode titled "Run." It airs on Jan. 29, 2015.
