What will happen to Olivia Pope's (Kerry Washington) fate in the upcoming episode of "Scandal" season 4?

In the previous episode, Liv tried to outsmart her captors by asking them to auction her off so that her friends would be able to discover where to find her. But when Ian McCloud (Jason Butler Harner) realized that she was only leading him on, her life was put in greater danger when Gus (Chad Dinella) killed Ian.

Liv's friends Jake (Scott Foley), Quinn (Katie Lowes), David (Joshua Malina), and Huck (Guillermo Diaz) worked together to convince her mom to help them with the bidding, However, Jake was afraid because of Huck's excessive aggression over the entire process. But in the upcoming episode titled "No More Blood," the bidding for Liv's life continues.

Carter Matt posted the official synopsis of the episode, which reads:

"As the bidding for Olivia Pope continues, the gladiators fight to save her but The White House fears that they may lose her for good."

The promo trailer for the upcoming episode shows Olivia being dragged by her abductors in the desert. The narrator says, "The winner of the worldwide auction for Olivia Pope will be revealed." It also shows the shocked expression of Olivia after she finds out who is willing to purchase her head from the abductors.

Speculations claim that Olivia is handed over to an important representative from Iraq, but there are no clues if this is true since the promo video does not provide any glimpse on who the person is.

Meanwhile, series creator Shonda Rhimes was haunted with a lot of unfavorable reactions because of the "black woman auction" storyline.

Some fans were offended because of this arc in the show's story, but Rhimes defended her concept on her Twitter account, saying, "Can't believe I need to say this: yes, I wrote 'black woman auctions herself off' storyline on PURPOSE (sic). I have heard of slavery."

Rhimes also claimed that the show is very much aware of the dynamics of race, power, and gender, which is why they know where they are going in this particular point of the story.

"Scandal" season 4 episode 13 will be shown on Feb. 19 on ABC.
