The Samsung Gear S3 will be unveiled on Sept. 1, as per the new invite sent out by Samsung. There was no specific indication that the smartwatch will be the device revealed, but the clock design of the invite speaks for itself.
The Samsung Sear S3 has been in the rumor mills for quite a while. According to the latest reports, it will come in three versions: Classic, Frontier and Explorer.
Not much information was revealed about the Samsung Gear S3, but as per Mashable, the latter two models might have designs focused for the active users and travel buffs, which will make for a rugged and durable design.
The Explore will reportedly come with three buttons located on the two, four and 10 hour marks, which are speculated to have stopwatch functionalities or shortcut app launch capability.
The Samsung Gear S3 Classic will likely have a more sophisticated and sleek design and is likely the go-to for users when it comes to style and simplicity. This model has been confirmed in a leaked trademark registration.
The Gear S2 has a Classic version, which looks like an analog timepiece but with the added features and wonders of the smartwatch tech. Through it, the watch enjoys a new level of functionality while keeping its traditional look.
More on the design, the said site adds that the Samsung Gear S3 will still sport a round watch face and a rotatable bezel. One the subject of specs and features, Samsung packed in a lot of upgrades from the S2.
The Samsung Gear S3 will reportedly come with Global Positioning System or GPS, which will be most integrated in the speedometer for improved tracking capabilities.
A barometer and an altimeter are expected to be on board as well. Of course, the Samsung Gear S3 will run Samsung Tizen.
