Samsung Galaxy S7 is just starting to make its mark in the mobile world but users are already talking about its successor, the Samsung Galaxy S8, which is believed to be the company's first ever foldable smartphone.

Samsung had everything set up for the debut of its foldable technology almost a decade ago. Ever since, it has been waiting for the right time to make use of the innovation that is sure to wow fans.

Reports say that this opportunity comes along with the Samsung Galaxy S8. However, there are reports that Samsung is saving up the design for an entirely different smartphone.

If this will be the case, the Samsung Galaxy S8 might not be as different from its predecessors after all, at least in terms of looks.

A more ambitious rumor about the Samsung Galaxy S7 successor is that it can double as a laptop. This technology is said to be seen in action first in the Samsung Galaxy Note 6, which is expected to be released in August. For this to work, the device will have two operating systems-- Android for the phablet mode and Windows 10 for the laptop counterpart.

As for the display of the Samsung Galaxy S8, rumor has it that it will get a 5.2-inch display with 2K resolution and not 4K, as some reports suggest.

On the security department, the flagship is expected to feature both a fingerprint scanner and an iris scanner, which should allow users to access the smartphone with their eyes, making it more secure.

Not many smartphones offers such biometric technology, but it definitely is being honed and readied for future releases. Samsung is not one to be held back or left behind, so expect to see the Samsung Galaxy S8 with the said technology.

Under the hood, the Samsung Galaxy S8 is said to come with a whopping 6GB RAM. The best part is that it will be based on a 10nm architecture, the latest and most advanced that will allow for faster and more efficient performance.

Samsung has recently introduced the technology in the Mobile Solutions Form event in Shenzhen, China. And since it is predicted to debut in the Samsung Galaxy Note 6, it is believed that the Samsung Galaxy S8 will also get a piece of the formidable new tech.

The Samsung Galaxy S8 is expected to be released early next year.
