The Samsung Galaxy S7 and the LG G5 will be going head to head in the Mobile World Congress, where both devices will be fully unveiled. The smartphones are expected to be unveiled on Feb. 21, a day before the event and they will do everything to steal each other's thunder.

There has been a steady flow of leaks regarding the devices, allowing users to paint a picture of the flagships and evaluate before they are even made official by their respective manufacturers. This also makes it faster to choose which one a user should get.

The most interesting comparison between the Samsung Galaxy S7 and the LG G5 is their battery. While it is unclear if Samsung will give users the ability to switch the battery of the device, LG is rumored to offer an innovative way to do that.

For a while now, there have been rumors that the LG G5 will boast a compartment at the bottom of the device where the battery will be tucked in. It can slide down with the push of a button, allowing users to change the battery easily.

In line with this, the Samsung Galaxy S7 specification that Samsung hopes to beat that innovation is its longer battery life. The standard version is expected to boast a 3000mAh battery unit while the 5.5-inch Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge variant is said to pack a gigantic 3600-mAh battery.

Speaking of Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge, LG G5 won't offer a variant with a curved display. This already gives Samsung the edge in the design department, not counting the battery-changing novelty.

The important thing about the LG flagship is that it will be the first in its family to boast a metal unibody, which is already an achievement. A notable feature of the device is that it can totally shut off the screen but still displays the time, date and notifications.

Camera-wise, Samsung Galaxy S7 rumors hint that the flagship will get downgraded megapixels but higher aperture for better quality photos even in low light settings. LG G5's weapon in this department is a dual camera set-up where the rear of the device has both 8-MP and 16-MP shooters.

In the display aspect, users are looking at a 5.7-inch screen in the LG G5 and a 5.1-inch in the standard Samsung Galaxy S7. Both will sport 4K resolution.
