Is Samsung packing a bigger capacity RAM in its upcoming Galaxy S6 Edge Plus?

A report posted on a Vietnamese website claims that the soon-to-be released Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus will have a whopping 4 GB of RAM, just like the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 5 that is also believed to come out next month. The bigger Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus will allegedly come with fewer improvements compared to the other devices under the Galaxy S6 product line, which include the Samsung Galaxy S6 and Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge.

According to earlier reports, the new version of Samsung's flagship will have an Exynos 7420 processor, which is also featured in the other Galaxy S6 smartphones. It will also have a 5.7-inches Super AMOLED Quad HD display, 32 GB of internal storage capacity, and 3,000 mAh storage capacity. The device will be equipped with a 16-megapixel rear-facing primary camera enabled with OIS, and it will also have a 5-megapixel secondary camera for taking selfie shots.

Reports claim that the only difference of the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus from the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge is the minimal curving in the upcoming device's corners, and it will come with the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop straight out of the box.

Meanwhile, the other new flagship product from the South Korean consumer and electronics giant is also rumored to have the same 4 GB RAM capacity. The Samsung Galaxy Note 5 will allegedly feature a 5.7-inch up to 5.89-inch touchscreen display with just 7.9 mm overall thickness, an Exynos 7422 processor, as well as a bigger 4100 mAh battery. There are also speculations claiming that the device will come with a USB 3.1 Type-C port.

In another news, the alleged real photos of both the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus and the Galaxy Note 5 were posted by SamMobile online. The prolific tipster spotted the images of the upcoming devices in various tech websites.

Samsung has yet to confirm the validity of these reports, but the devices might take center stage on Aug. 13 in Samsung's Unpacked event.
