Samsung Galaxy Note 9 release date, specs rumors: Will South Korean tech giant go for an earlier than scheduled launch?

It had previously been reported that Samsung would be launching its highly anticipated Galaxy Note 9 device on August 9, but now there are some reports doing the rounds that the South Korean tech giant might actually bring it out even earlier than that.

If Samsung goes ahead with the August reveal as planned it would fit in with its traditional release timeline for Note devices, as fans will remember that the predecessor to the upcoming device, the Galaxy Note 8, was revealed on 23 August 2017 and made available on 15 September that year.

So it makes sense that if Samsung sticks with the August 9 reveal, we will be seeing the Galaxy Note 9 hit retailers around mid-September 2018.

However, The Inquirer says there are some suggestions the device could be revealed even earlier than reveal, going for July instead of August.

TechRadar said supply chain sources had reported that screen panels were being built for the Galaxy Note 9 two months earlier than normal and going as far as to suggest a launch date in late July.

However, TechRadar thinks late July is "a little too ambitious" for the device and the August 9 launch date seems more likely.

So what can we expect from the device? Renders leaked by 91Mobiles and @OnLeaks suggest that the design will be virtually the same as the Galaxy Note 8, with very few new design elements, and it will come in the same size of display - 6.3-inches.

But if that sounds disappointing, Samsung is rumored to be improving the battery, upgrading the Note 8's 3,330mAh battery to a a 3,850mAh battery.

It's also expected to be powered by Snapdragon 845 and there has been some speculation that the Note 9 will embed a fingerprint sensor in the display

Respected tipster Ice Universe, via SlashGear, reported that the device would get a better camera and redesigned S-Pen stylus, as well as "Bixby 2.0" and a new 'Teddy Brown' color variation.
