Samsung is currently doing everything to regain the trust of their consumers, after the controversial explosion of several Galaxy Note 7 devices in different parts of the world, with the release of the infamous device's successor, the Galaxy Note 8.

According to reports, the next-generation Galaxy Note will come out with new and improved features to make sure that the battery explosion incidents that happened with Galaxy Note 7 will no longer occur. But the specific details about the rumored features of Galaxy Note 8 remain under wraps.

Meanwhile, a report from Reuters in October claimed that the South Korean tech giant will reportedly offer a discount in their Galaxy Note 8 exchange program when it becomes available.

According to the report, Samsung Electronics will offer an upgrade program to all Galaxy Note 7 owners in South Korea who will opt to exchange their recalled device for Galaxy S7 units. Then they can upgrade their traded Galaxy S7 devices for a Galaxy Note 8 or a Galaxy S8, when the new flagship smartphones come out next year, with huge discounts. However, the company has yet to confirm if the report is accurate.

On the other hand, the rumored Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is expected to come out with a lot of upgrades, including the 4K screen resolution display. It may also come out with a better processor, bigger RAM and internal storage capacities, an updated Samsung S Pen support, as well as improved camera features. There are also rumors claiming that the device will have an improved AI technology.

In another report from CIO, Moor Insights and Strategy president and principal analyst Patrick Moorhead speculated that the device will come out in early 2017.

"I think come January or March — January at CES or March at Mobile World Congress — they'll come out with a Note 8," the analyst stated. "It will look different, it may be a different color, they might put a different industrial type of coating on it. But it will be their high-end phone that not only goes after high-end consumers but enterprise as well," the executive stated.
