Excitement over the release of "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" begins to intensify as Lucasfilm begins to drop teasers for the upcoming movie.

Earlier this month, the film outfit unveiled the full-length trailer for the first standalone "Star Wars" Anthology movie.

The two-minute trailer established the film's main conflict, where Jyn Erso (Felicity Jones) is seen being recruited by the Rebellion to join them in their plans to steal the Death Star plans and stop the influence of the Empire. It also features other supporting characters in the movie, including Cassian Andor (Diego Luna), Baze Malbus (Wen Jiang), and Chirrut (Donnie Yen).

The sarcastic droid named K-2SO, portrayed by Alan Tudyk, is also featured in the trailer. In an interview published on StarWars.com, Tudyk revealed that he and actor Anthony Daniels chatted during the Star Wars Celebration Europe to exchange notes on portraying droid characters in the legendary sci-fi movie franchise. According to Tudyk, Daniels was envious because he never had to be literally screwed into the droid costume, unlike Daniels's portrayal of the iconic C-3PO.

"He said, 'You [expletive]!' [Laughs] That was his response, because he was envious of the comfort level he knew I had wearing a Spandex body suit versus a practical costume, which by the way he still fits into," Tudyk said.

The actor also described explained how his character, also known as Kaytoo, became considered as the "anti-thesis of C-3PO." According to the actor, "Kaytoo was formerly an Imperial droid, so he used to be on the other side. He was a security droid and then Cassian, Diego Luna's character, who owns Kaytoo, has done a memory wipe and reprograms Kaytoo to be a Rebel with the Alliance."

He added that it was the reason why Kaytoo's personality was altered.

"I approached it as if he were freed, almost like a governor on an engine that holds the personality back."

"Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" is slated to premiere on Dec. 16, 2016.
