Fans were quick to post their tributes to Robin Williams over their social media accounts after hearing the tragic news of his death, but some fans went out of their way to visit and create makeshift shrines in the spots associated with the beloved comedian.

The 63-year-old Academy Award winner was found dead in his own home on Monday from an apparent suicide.

Fans drove to some of the popular locations that are associated with the actor, including his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, the bench in Boston where Good Will Hunting was filmed, and his own home in California.

Here are some of the makeshift memorials made for the fallen actor.

The bench in Good Will Hunting: A lot of people remembered William's award-winning role as Dr Sean Maguire in Good Will Hunting. One of the film's most unforgettable scenes was when his character sat with Matt Damon's character on a bench in the Boston Public Garden where the two discussed a lot of important lessons about love, life, and loss. It is also where the famous line "You know what occurred to me? You're just a kid, and you don't have the faintest idea of what you're talking about," was delivered.

Fans flocked to this place and wrote some of the movie's most remarkable lines in chalk on the pavement surrounding the bench.

The house of Mrs. Doubtfire: One of the actor's most endearing roles in the big screen was as a cross-dressing man who worked as a housekeeper in disguise to take care of his own family. The 1993 film was shot at a house in San Francisco.

Fans have flocked to the location and offered letters, flowers, and candles on the brick stairs where a lot of memorable scenes were filmed over 20 years ago.

The house of Mork & Mindy: The Oscar-winning actor's most famous role perhaps was as Mork, the alien from the planet Ork in the hit American TV series Mork & Mindy broadcasted in the late '70s to early '80s.

William's followers hung flowers and signs outside the Boulder, Colorado house in memory of the great actor.

The Hollywood Walk of Fame: A crowd also gathered at 6925 Hollywood Boulevard to honor their favorite comedian. Flower bouquets and candles were strewn around his star to mourn over his death.

Williams' Tiburon, California home: In the place where the actor was found dead, dozens of people decided to show up outside the actor's home to pay their respects.

Notes and flowers were hung at the gates, and fans stood across the street to pray and pay their respects.

More memorials are continuously popping up all over to honor the actor.
