Those who are still contemplating purchasing "Rise of the Tomb Raider" can now try the game first, thanks to Microsoft.

The timed-exclusive action adventure game from the "Tomb Raider" franchise has been making waves among critics and gamers alike since its release in November. But those who are still trying to make up their mind about buying the game can now download the free demo for the Xbox One version of the game through the Xbox.com page.

The sequel to the 2013-released "Tomb Raider" game received praises from video game enthusiasts for its exhilarating action sequences and exceptional combat styles. It was given favorable ratings by different video game-dedicated websites like IGN, saying that the newest installment took advantage of the "Tomb Raider" franchise's winning formula but took it to the next level.

The "Rise of the Tomb Raider" was also lauded for featuring a crafting system that lets players develop different items by looking for different materials from plants and animals inside the game's expansive environment.

Those who already own the game experience the impressive weather system and a day-night cycle. It means that game heroine Lara Croft can hunt a wolf that only comes during the winter so she can use its fur to create a thick coat to keep her warm during the extremely cold days. The game also allows Lara to swim so she can fight her enemies even if they are on a body of water.

At the moment, Microsoft has not released any announcement regarding the possibility of coming up with a demo for the game's Xbox 360 version. However, the Crystal Dynamics-developed game is also scheduled to be released in PC edition in early 2016. Meanwhile, the PlayStation 4 version of the game will come out later next year.
