Will there be hope for the King of France and the Queen of Scots in "Reign" season 3?
When the fictional historical drama ended its second season, Mary (Adelaide Kane) and Francis (Toby Regbo) got back together after an entire season of being estranged. Mary had an affair with Prince Conde (Sean Teale), but she chose to reconcile with her husband. However, Francis is still weak because of his sickness, and could die in the near future.
Could their love survive another big blow?
Meanwhile, actor Torrance Coombs said during an interview with Seat42F that he is still open to the possibility that his character Bash and Mary can still get back together after their failed romance in the first season. According to Coombs, it is not impossible to see Mary and Bash together after everything that happened between them.
"Let's give people some hope. Let's just say Bash is playing the long-game," Coombs stated.
But it could be a little difficult for Bash to be with anyone else at this point, since it was revealed at the end of season 2 that his former lover Delphine (Alexandra Ordolis), who turned out to be a witch, cursed him so that his soul will forever be bound to her. He is also still married to Kenna (Caitlin Stasey).
The CW released the official synopsis for "Reign" season 3, which reads:
Reign begins its third season with Mary and Francis realizing that they are more powerful together than apart, believing there is hope for them to move forward, leaving behind the anger and hurt. It also introduces us to another Court, that of Elizabeth (Rachel Skarsten), 'Virgin' Queen of England. Still early in her reign, Elizabeth faces opposition on all sides, particularly from men who doubt a woman's ability to rule. Like Mary and Catherine de Medici (Megan Follows), she struggles to hold on to power and love. The women have much in common and Mary and Elizabeth are reluctant foes, but foes nonetheless, each positioned by birth and fate to destroy all the other holds dear."
