'Red Dead Redemption 2' release date news: will the title be made official in E3 reveal?

Is "Red Dead Redemption 2" one of Rockstar's games to be made official soon? Rockstar Games

There have been plenty of rumors, leaks and speculations about the "Red Dead Redemption 2" as fans await the game to be made official, but it looks like they won't have to wait long for that to happen.

Take Two Interactive has revealed that developer Rockstar has finally shifted its focus on putting together new titles. This was revealed during the company's earnings report.

"Rockstar Games is of course hard at work on some exciting future projects that will be revealed soon," Take Two said, as quoted by GameSpot.

The company did not elaborate on this, although it is expected that one of these games could be "Red Dead Redemption 2," which has been talked about quite a lot in the past months.

Take Two will have a presentation at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2016 next month. Although the highly-anticipated "Mafia 3" is expected to be the star of the show, some believe that "Red Dead Redemption 2" will turn up in some form.

However, according to Forbes, Rockstar games are usually announced in a different schedule, although it is possible that E3 will finally show a glimpse of the long-awaited "Red Dead Redemption" sequel.

Even though it will be there, the game won't be here anytime soon. Take Two has already laid out its upcoming releases for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2017. "Red Dead Redemption 2" isn't included. In fact, no titles from Rockstar are in the pipeline.

Despite this, it will be a real treat for fans just to be assured that the western shooter is in the works and that it will soon see the light of day. Whether or not an announcement will take place on E3 remains to be seen.

Take Two has also said in the past that they are developing a new IP. It is unknown, however, if this new title will come from Rockstar.
