The second season of "Ray Donovan" ended with lots of questions, but fans will have to wait until the filming for the series starts early next year to finally get the answers that they are longing for.

The record-breaking American crime drama series will face a lot of major changes in its upcoming third season, and most of it is the result of creator Ann Biderman's departure from the series after season 2 wrapped up. Could this affect the plot of Showtime's highly successful series?

Meanwhile, Paula Malcomson, the actress who portrays the role of Abby Donovan in the series, shared in an interview with E! Online that her character will show something new when the show returns.

"There will be more of the same madness but Abby sort of starts to have her own agenda in a really big way because we can't have her nagging Ray any longer," Malcomson shared. "I think she's going to take care of family matters and Ray takes care of the business. So we get to see more of the matriarch."

Abby's husband Ray, played by actor Live Schreiber, is the focal character in the show. He works as a popular "fixer" for Hollywood celebrities, popular athletes, as well as other important clients. The series shows Ray's struggles in his personal and professional life, as his father Mickey, played by Jon Voight, was suddenly released from prison and causes a lot of problems at home, while the FBI agents continuously try to pin him down because of his business.

Fans are expecting to see more gruesome scenes and emotional roller coasters in the upcoming season. However, the direction where the season is going is still undisclosed as of the moment.

Also, Malcomson teased that Jim, the cop that Abby had an affair with, will return next season. The character is being played by Brian Geraghty.

"He's cute," the actress said. "We might need him from time to time."

"Ray Donovan" season 3 is expected to air starting July 2015.
