French multimedia distributor Innelec Multimedia has denied its involvement in and knowledge of the so-called PlayStation Neo, the rumored upgrade to the current PS4.

After explicitly mentioning the release of the upgraded Sony console in its latest financial report, Innelec Multimedia released a brand new statement to afjv.com refuting any knowledge regarding the release of the PS4 Neo.

"Innelec denies any official information about the launch of a PS4K Neo. It is possible that during the 2016/2017 fiscal developments exist on the current PS4 [but] for the moment we have no information about the nature of them," the company explained.

In a financial report posted in French by Bousier, Innelec Multimedia claimed that the PS4 Neo will be released September at the latest. The company said (translation provided by VideoGamer):

"The 2016/2017 current year should be marked for the video game world by the arrival, in the first half of our fiscal year, an evolution of the Sony PS4 console with the Neo 4K with new features and that the placing on the market in October 2016 virtual reality helmet Sony VR."

Since Innelec's financial year falls April 2016 to March 2017, media outlets believed that the PS4 Neo will make its debut anytime now, with September being the latest possible month of launch.

Not long after the revelation, it was speculated that the PS4 Neo will be showcased during the Tokyo Game Show this September. The Nintendo NX was also rumored to launch there.

For now, all fans will have to do is wait. If a September release is on the horizon for PS4 Neo, more specific details should be revealed soon.

In the recent months, the rumor mills have been churning information about Sony putting out a 4K upgrade of the PS4, hence the PS4 Neo. However, Sony hasn't commented on reports about it yet. Rumors say that Sony will talk about the console at the Electronic Entertainment Expo next month.
