Prince Harry and Meghan Markle engagement rumors: Couple tipped to tie the knot in July 2018

With Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's relationship continuing to blossom, all signs are pointing to a royal wedding soon. In fact, royal watchers already have a predicted date as to when the couple may be tying the knot.

Insiders close to Buckingham Palace recently told news program "A Current Affair" that the official engagement between Prince Harry and his actress girlfriend is expected to be announced in a few weeks as they are eyeing a July 2018 wedding.

The date is said to commemorate Prince Harry and Prince William's late mother, Princess Diana, whose birthday falls in the same month. July also marks the couple's 2-year anniversary and Princess Diana and Prince Charles' 37th wedding anniversary.

"There is a lot of excitement about this wedding, a wedding in the British summer ... there will be dignitaries and prime ministers from right across the Commonwealth, it might be a good chance for some VIPs to escape the Australian winter," says royal commentator and Prince Harry biographer Katie Nichol.

The claim comes on the heels of Markle's "Suits" exit after seven seasons, when the contracts for all Suits cast members expire. The 36-year-old star, who plays Rachel Zane in the show, reportedly decided to leave the legal drama in preparation for the role she would have within the royal family. Prior to her "Suits" departure, she already shut down her lifestyle blog of three years and social media accounts.

If the July wedding is accurate, 9news says it would fall between the birth of Prince William and Kate Middleton's third child which is due in April, and the Prince Harry-created Invictus Games in October.

The publication reminds that by marrying the "Suits" actress, Prince Harry is following the footsteps of his older brother William, who also married a commoner, as well as his great-great-uncle Edward VIII, who abdicated the throne to wed American divorcee Wallis Simpson.
