Things might change for Emily in the love department in "Pretty Little Liars" season 7. She has stayed single in the past season but the character's essayer Shay Mitchell believes that there's a reason she is not romantically involved with someone yet.
"She'd had a revolving door of girls ever since the series began, so maybe she needed a little bit of a break," Mitchell told Bustle. The actress, however, hopes that Emily won't remain single in "Pretty Little Liars" season 7.
"I hope that she finds somebody that she cares deeply about. It'd be nice to get to have someone in Emily's life that is special to her this season," Mitchell said. According to reports, the star's wish may come true in "Pretty Little Liars" season 7.
Emily has been on a rollercoaster ride in the past season. She lost people she cares about and got her heart broken. Her life is constantly hanging by a thread. Although the same can be said for Ali, Aria, Spencer and Hanna, Emily went through all this pain without a partner.
Things might not be that way for Emily anymore. Speaking to TV Line, Sasha Pieterse, who plays Alison, revealed that Emily and her character might reunite in "Pretty Little Liars" season 7.
"There's always hope for Emison," the actress said, referring to the former lovers' pet name. This could potentially happen after Ali realizes in "Pretty Little Liars" season 7 what her husband Elliott really is.
"I don't know how long it's going to take Alison to find out. I can say that she's going to go crazy this season, absolutely bonkers," Pieterse said. Mitchell, on the other hand, is "all for" the Emison "endgame."
Meanwhile, Mitchell and Pieterse also hinted that "Pretty Little Liars" season 7 will be the show's last. While nothing has been made official yet, it is certainly what the word going around is implying. Even Lucy Hale who plays Aria suggested the same.
"Pretty Little Liars" season 7 premieres June 21 at 8 p.m. ET on Freeform.
