'Pretty Little Liars' season 6 spoilers: Liars deal with trauma after escaping Charles' lair in episode 2

The Liars managed to escape Charles' evil dollhouse, but the memories seemed to be stuck with them for a long time. Screengrabbed from PLL Season 6 Episode 2 promo trailer. ABC Family

When "Pretty Little Liars" aired its premiere episode this week, the Liars were finally free from Charles' creepy, oversized dollhouse. But are they really safe now that they are out of the "Big A's" clutches?

In episode 2 of season 6, the Liars will have to deal with the trauma of having been Charles' captives while trying to get their lives back on track. The teaser promo for the episode "Songs of Innocence" shows the Liars huddled inside a hospital room while a police officer stands guard outside. They appear to be discussing the bad events that happened to them, and Hanna (Ashley Benson) asks her friends if they could really put the incident behind.

The girls are also shown struggling to forget the individual tortures that they endured inside the fake dollhouse. Emily's (Shay Mitchell) coping mechanism seems to be learning how to fire a gun since she is featured practicing her shooting skills in a shooting range. Ali (Sasha Pieterse), on the other hand, is determined to find out who Charles DiLaurentis is after the Liars told her about their discovery. She presses her father Kenneth (Jim Abele) to learn who Charles is, but her father seems to have no idea what she is talking about.

The official synopsis for the episode reads:

The girls may have gotten out of the Dollhouse but what happened to them during their time of captivity has lasting effects. With worried loved ones watching over them, the PLLs are home and trying to heal, with not much success. Even with suspected tormentor Andrew in custody, Aria, Emily, Hanna and Spencer fear they are far from safe. Meanwhile, Alison must deal with her past indiscretions and her notoriety around Rosewood."

Will the girls ever recover from the tragic events that happened caused by "Big A?" And will the real connection of Sara Harvey with the Liars be discussed in the upcoming episode?

"Pretty Little Liars" season 6 episode 2 airs June 9 on ABC Family.
