Prayers to say at dinner and meal times with family and friends

Food is always blessings. When we have food on the table to feed our family and friends, that's a big blessing from the Lord. It is important to always remember Him before eating, to show thanks and appreciation for His provision. If you're looking for a nice prayer to say with friends and family at your next gathering, take a look at these.

Thank You Prayer

We thank You Lord, for all you give; the food we eat, the lives we live; and to our loved ones far away, please send your blessings, Lord we pray. And help us all to live our days with thankful hearts and loving ways. Amen. - Beliefnet

The most important prayer to say before meals is to thank God for the food you have. Make it a habit at home so the kids will also learn to pray before they eat wherever they are.

A Family Mealtime Prayer

Father, We have gathered to share a meal in Your honor. Thank You for putting us together as family, and thank You for this food. Bless it to our bodies, Lord. We thank you for all of the gifts you've given to those around this table. Help each member of our family use these gifts to your glory. Guide our mealtime conversations and steer our hearts to Your purpose for our lives. In Jesus' Name, Amen. - Crosswalk

As the family gathers together to savor a deliciously prepared meal at night, pray together as a family and thank the Lord for filling your tummies. Remember, a family that prays together, stays together.

Bless Our Food Prayer

Father of us all, This meal is a sign of Your love for us: Bless us and bless our food, And help us to give you glory each day Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen!

After thanking the Lord, ask Him to bless your family and friends, as well as the food you are about to eat. In the Bible, Jesus always blessed the food He ate with the apostles.

Sometimes, we take for granted our chance to be able to eat three times a day but we must always remember that food is a huge blessing from the Lord. Many people in this world struggle to eat even one decent meal a day.  We must remember them and pray for them, that the Lord will provide for them too.  So we must always enjoy and give thanks for the provisions we have, while we have them, and give back the glory to God before every meal.
