Ever since its development was announced, "Pokemon GO" has put gamers at the edge of their seats as they wait for the reveal of its launch date. The wide-scale game was uncovered to be in production last year and is expected to be released later this year.

"Pokemon GO" is an augmented reality game designed for mobile devices such as Android and iOS smartphones. As per reports, it will take a lot of work to put it together especially with all the features and abilities it promises to give players.

As what has already been said, "Pokemon GO" will allow players to trace, capture and battle Pokemon with the real world as the stage. Gamers can virtually find creatures basically anywhere in the real world. There might even be one just around the corner of their home.

"For the first time, Pokemon will roam free in the real world. 'Pokemon GO' will allow players to capture Pokemon who inhabit parks, shopping areas, sidewalks and the countryside all around the world," John Hanke, founder of Niantic, the game studio is in charge of the game's production, said in a statement.

The highly anticipated game has no release date set yet although media outlets believe that an early 2016 release is unlikely. This is because before the augment reality-based title will be released, beta testing will take place. That event alone is yet to be scheduled.

Furthermore, the 20th anniversary of the beloved franchise is looming. On Feb. 27, Nintendo will celebrate two decades of childhood-defining, life-changing Pokemon gaming. In fact, in preparation for the event, The Pokemon Company International has already shared its Super Bowl commercial for the anniversary.

"For 20 years, the Pokemon world has inspired fans to train hard and have fun," The Pokemon Company International consumer marketing senior director J.C. Smith said (via Comingsoon). "This ad is reflective of that passion, and I can't think of a bigger stage to share this story than the Super Bowl," he added.

Nintendo has also announced that this March, it will be releasing its first free-to-play mobile game called "Miitomo." Media outlets imagine "Pokemon GO" having the spotlight to itself when it will be released this year, which means that early 2016 won't see the game out in the open.
