'Pokemon GO' news: Truckload of information about game datamined from field test

First look at "Pokemon GO" Niantic/The Pokemon Company

A leak out of the ongoing "Pokemon GO" field test in Japan courtesy of the copious data mining of a group of Redditors has brought forth details about the hugely anticipated augmented reality game from Niantic.

These Redditors have been constantly updating whenever they compile new details in "Pokemon GO" but for now, they can confirm a bulk of the stuff about the Pokemon to expect.

"Pokemon GO" will have 151 of Pokemon running around, all of which are first-generation classified into three categories – normal, legendary and mythic. All 18 Pokemon types are present and players get a starter Pokemon.

Evolution is completed by amassing a certain number of "evolution shards" from a wild Pokemon that will produce what "Pokemon GO" calls "evolution stones." Mega Evolution does not appear in the beta.

The game will also integrate various Pokemon natures but in the field test, the only ones available were Stoic, Assassin, Guardian, Raider, Protector, Sentry and Champion.

There are a total of 232 damaging attacks, 95 of which are "quick" moves. The game also offers seven types of objects, which include Poke Ball, Potion, Revive, Maps, Battle Objects, Food and Camera.

"Pokemon GO" encourages players who reach a certain Trainer Level to join one of three teams – Red, Blue and Yellow. This earns players a Gym Membership, allowing players to train their Pokemon in "friendly" gyms or gyms owned by their teams.

There's a training meter players will have to meet. It remains unclear how long the training will take but Experience and Gym Points are earned along the way. Gyms owned by other teams naturally become "enemy" gyms, where players can battle.

Gyms in "Pokemon GO" have levels and the higher they are, the greater the prestige (which is affected by the number of challenges won by the team members) and this allows players to gain more spots for their Pokemon in the "team-to-beat" line-up.

Also, trainers can reach at least Level 50, where they will be able to store 500 Pokemon and 1000 items. For more "Pokemon GO" info from the field test, click here and here.
