'Pokemon' for Switch news: 2018 release is likely after game's localization

Nintendo is on a roll with the Switch getting massive sales all over the globe. It is not surprising for them to bring their popular games to the consoles and one of which, "Pokémon," has been the subject of rumors for a while. The new game would have big gameplay changes and it looks like fans will get to see those within the year.

The clues to its release this year first came from a job listing posted on the "Pokémon" careers page. They are apparently looking for "Localisation Editor" specifically in Spanish with a six-month minimum contract. For any game, localisations are usually the last step before the game's release.

With them looking for a localization editor, it may then easily mean that this new game for the Nintendo Switch should be coming out soon. Since it also mentions of six months being the minimum, that could likely fit this year with 2018 having ten months remaining. That is more than enough even if it goes beyond the six months.

Nintendo found success with putting their games on the new Switch because of its open-world capability which is the first for Nintendo consoles. Their "The Legend of Zelda" and "Mario" game franchises were big hits when they got games on the Switch featuring new gameplay.

This does not make it surprising to hear that the new "Pokémon" game will also see some major gameplay changes. Rumors even mention that they are ditching the old turn-based combat and make it a more actual fighting kind of game where players get to control their Pokémon.

Since this is just putting the puzzle pieces together, there is no release date for the new "Pokémon" game for the Switch. An announcement about it should come at least within the next several months.
