PAX Prime 2015 news: gameplay demos, charity drive included in Square Enix lineup

Square Enix recently revealed their planned activities and the list of games that they will bring to Seattle, Washington, D.C. for the 2015 PAX Prime event later this week. 

The game developer announced that for this year's PAX Prime, they will bring tons of exciting games, including some of the most anticipated ones like "Final Fantasy," "Dragon Quest," "Just Cause 3," and the mobile versions of "Hitman" and "Lara Croft."  

On Friday, Aug. 28, at the start of the annual Seattle edition of the series of gaming festivals in the U.S., Square Enix will present "Hitman GO" and "Lara Croft GO" through a panel to be moderated by Greg Miller at the Cerberus Theatre from noon to 1 p.m. It will be followed by the game demo for "Just Cause 3" at the Spinx Theatre from 3 to 4 p.m. Meanwhile, the panel for "Deus Ex: Mankind Divided" will be unveiled at the same venue starting 4:30 p.m., and the first day at the PAX Prime will end with a gameplay demo of "Hitman" at the Hydra Theatre from 8:30 to 9:30 p.m. 

Their panel schedule for PAX Prime Day 2 on Saturday, Aug. 29, will begin with Sound Director Masayoshi Soken and localization lead Michael-Christopher Koji Fox talking about the plot and music featured in "Final Fantasy XIV" at the Grand Seattle Hydra Room from noon to 1 p.m.. The next question-and-answer stage will start at 4:30 to 5:30 p.m., where "Final Fantasy XV" director Hajime Tabata will share details about the game. 

Square Enix games that will have playable demos during the PAX Prime 2015 include: 

  • Final Fantasy XIV: Heavensward
  • Final Fantasy XIV: Before the Fall Original Soundtrack
  • Final Fantasy XIV: From Astral to Umbral
  • Just Cause 3
  • Lara Croft GO
  • Life Is Strange
  • Dragon Quest Heroes: The World Tree's Woe and the Blight Below
  • Final Fantasy Explorers
  • Final Fantasy XV – Episode Duscae 2.0

"Before the Fall," the limited "Final Fantasy XIV" original soundtrack, and the "From Astral to Umbral" arrangement album will also be available for purchase at the booth. 

There will also be a pop-up barbershop that will be installed at the Square Enix booth where attendees can have their heads shaved to match the looks of Agent 47. With each participant who will have their head shaved, the game developer will donate $47 to GameChanger Charity to help support children battling with cancer. 

PAX Prime 2015 will run from Aug. 28 to 31.
