'Outlander' season 2: New promo image shows Claire in the face of grave danger

A helpless Claire looks over what looks like a dead body Twitter/Outlander Starz

The latest promotional image for "Outlander" season 2 is rather ominous. The photo features a troubled Claire attending to what looks like a dead body. She also seems to be pleading to someone or something to stop doing any more harm.

"There's no time to waste when a life is at stake," the Twitter account of the Starz time-travel drama wrote about the photo. Claire, who appears to be in a depot, is not looking at the body but in another direction in which she raises her arm to bring someone unseen to a halt.

It's a bit difficult to recognize whose body lies lifeless in front of Claire but some fans speculate that this "Outlander" season 2 casualty is Rupert, a tacksman from the MacKenzie clan whom Claire met at some point in the first season.

Social media has been a good source of new juicy details about the upcoming season. Days back, the Twitter account shared a photo of Claire donning a yellow hooded dress that showcases the intricacy of the work being done to recreate 18th century France.

"Healer, wife, mother-to-be, scheming spy ... is there anything Claire can't do?" the caption of the photo reads.

The new season of the series based on Diana Gabaldon's historical time-travel books will take Jaime and Claire to 18th century France, where they plan to stop the Jacobite rebellion from ever happening. Considering the latest promo image, this task won't be easy.

What makes this complicated (and also worth the struggle) is Claire bearing a child through it all. It also looks like an all-grown up version of their child to be named Brianna will at some point appear in "Outlander" season 2 via time travel as well.

Just recently, producer Matthew Roberts revealed via his Twitter that the cast and crew were down to filming the last two episodes of "Outlander" season 2. This update, needless to say, had fans more amped up for the premiere of the new season.
