'Orphan Black' season 4: Sarah discovers something terrifying inside her cheek

A brand new sneak peek of "Orphan Black" season 4 was screened during the recent Television Critics Association winter press tour, providing a quick look at the horrors Sarah will encounter as the new season of the sci-fi series opens.

In the clip, it was shown that Sarah was also infected by the same worm that Dr. Nealon had in the season 3 finale, only this time, Sarah had the worm inside her right cheek. Fans will remember that in the last season, a very similar worm emerged from the doctor's mouth as he spouted blood.

But this is not the only problem Sarah will have to deal with in "Orphan Black" season 4. As it turns out, she was captured by a man and a woman posing as EMS personnel. The mysterious individuals argued whether or not Sarah is the one they were looking to capture from the very beginning.

"We've been looking for you for a long time, don't fight it," the woman told a struggling Sarah (as quoted by Zap2it). The man, however, thinks that "it's not her." It is unclear who he was referring to although it was made crystal clear that they are very much familiar with the worm that found its way to Sarah.

The man checked Sarah's mouth looking for something. In the same "Orphan Black" season 4 sneak peek, there was a scene where Mrs. S discovered that worm is indeed inside her cheek. She checked it after Sarah mentioned that something was placed in her jaw.

For now, details about this worm are kept under wraps. What showrunner John Fawcett only said about it (during a Zap2it interview) is that it will serve as "a new way to explore the science" in the series.

"And it's kind of a mystery. It's like this creepy, gross, weird, horrible, scary thing that happened to Delphine and to the audience and there is no answer," Fawcett added.

Whatever this means to the clones, fans will find out when "Orphan Black" season 4 premieres April. As for the sneak peek, it is currently exclusive to TCA at the moment but fans can check a gif version of Mrs. S and Sarah's scene on the BBC America Tumblr account.
