The year 2015 is almost nearing its end, which is why fans are looking forward to hear more news about the plot of "Orange Is the New Black" season 4.

Recent rumors about the plot of the critically acclaimed comedy-drama is speculating about the possible return of Laverne Cox's popular character Sophia Burset in the fourth season of the series.

Back in the third season, Sophia had to be transferred to SHU due to a series of traumatic events. The entire season also showed her ugly spat with Gloria (Selenis Leyva) after the latter spread hurtful transphobic rumors with Aleida (Elizabeth Rodriguez).

While fans are hoping to see her back in the Netflix original series, some speculations are doubting Cox's return on the show because of her commitment to the soon-to-be-released made-for-TV film "The Rocky Horror Picture Show Event," where she will portray the lead role as Dr. Frank-N-Furter.

However, Cox's appearance in the recently released special Christmas video where cast members of the series performed the classic "The Night Before Christmas" could be a welcome sign that Sophia will be back in Litchfield Penitentiary in "Orange Is the New Black" season 4.

But if the cast of "Orange Is the New Black" season 4 will be based on the special Christmas video, it could mean that fans will be missing Nicky (Natasha Lyonne) next season.

The former drug dependent inmate was noticeably absent in the video, and her previous transfer to maximum security prison compelled fans to submit several petitions to bring her back to the show. However, the network has yet to address the rumors about Lyonne's possible departure from the show.

While Cox and Lyonne have yet to announce their return to the show, two new cast members were already announced to be coming to "Orange Is the New Black" season 4. They include "Empire" star Jamila Velazquez and Shannon Esper.
