'Once Upon a Time' season 5 spoilers: Regina must transform to become Emma's savior in episode 2 'The Price'

Regina Mills (Lana Parrilla) will save Storybrooke from the new Dark One. ABC

Emma (Jennifer Morrison) officially became the "Dark Swan" in Storybrooke, and now her loved ones will do everything to bring her back to the light in the second episode of "Once Upon a Time" season 5.

In the episode titled "The Price," Storybrooke's former baddie Regina (Lana Parilla) will prove that she will do everything to help save Emma even if she has to undergo a massive transformation.

Based on the press release for "Once Upon a Time" season 5 episode 2 posted by Spoiler.tv, Regina will have to make drastic moves that will test her determination to save Emma. But it will be like a huge pressure on her part as she is not naturally a savior.

It is also shown how difficult it is for Storybrooke's former Evil Queen to become a hero since she has in the past caused destruction in the fairy tale land. But because Emma became the Dark Swan after saving Regina in season 4, the Evil Queen has no other choice but to assume the role of the hero.

In an interview with Variety, series co-creator Adam Horowitz explained Regina's position regarding the Savior's role in town.

"Regina's a character who has grown a lot over the years and has tried to put her evil behind her and do good, but that part of her, the evil and the darkness, is a part of her," Horowitz stated. "So she is kind of struggling with how does she do the right thing and how does she help Emma."

The report also said that Regina will struggle with her new role and it will be extra hard for her to make other people follow her commands because of her past reputation. "So we've seen Regina on our side helping out the heroes, but she's going to be thrust into a leadership position in saving the town, a town where quite honestly, a lot of people are still frightened of her," co-creator Eddy Kitsis said in the same Variety interview.

"Once Upon a Time" season 5 episode 2 airs on Sunday, Oct. 4, on ABC.
