'Okami' to return to latest generation consoles with an HD remaster

Popular action-adventure video game "Okami" is getting a remastered version sometime shortly. Titled "Okami HD" the game is set to be released on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

On Nov. 28, Capcom released three brand new trailers for Okami's upcoming HD remaster. The trailers were uploaded to Capcom's YouTube channel. While the trailers have yet to be translated into English, it brought excitement for the "Okami" fans owing to its sneak peek and the possible challenges that lay ahead.

Similar to past games in the Okami franchise, "Okami HD" has a very traditional and painterly feel to both its level design and character design. Moreover, it retained the original features and maintained the game's art direction. 

According to Polygon, "Okami HD" will support the 4k graphics of the PlayStation Pro and Xbox One X, meaning that owners of the high-powered console will be able to play "Okami" at its optimal visual capacity. "Okami" was remastered once before for the PS3, but this time, it has been remastered for the latest generation consoles. 

Fans of the "Okami" franchise will be able to purchase "Okami HD" for $19.99, and they will be able to choose between either a physical copy or a digital copy of the upcoming game.

"Okami HD's" announcement trailer was uploaded to Xbox's YouTube channel on Sept. 15.

A little over three minutes long, the game featured the playable character Amaterasu as he makes his way through a stylish, painterly world. Just like any other games, it features a cast of interesting characters and beautiful surreal landscapes for Amaterasu to explore.

"Okami" first game out in 2006 for the PlayStation 2. It was a mishmash of different genres part-platformer and part-action game with puzzles and the occasional combat challenges. It gained massive popularity, and many fans of the original are excited about "Okami HD's" upcoming return.
