Nokia N1 vs Acer Aspire Switch 10 specs: Tablet faces laptop-tablet hybrid

Nokia's first attempt to break into the tablet market was announced by the Finnish company recently.  Simply called the Nokia N1, the company's first tablet is set to be released sometime in 2015. 

This is the first product that Nokia is producing after Microsoft purchased its mobile phone lines Lumia, Asha, and X earlier this year.  With the N1 tablet, the company will try to bounce back in the electronic device arena, but can it compete with other tablets that are already available in the market?

Meanwhile, the Acer Aspire Switch 10 is the Taiwanese company's answer to other leading laptop-tablet hybrids in the market today. It has a keyboard that can be attached and removed depending on how the user want to utilize it.

So which of the two tablet devices should a buyer purchase — the Nokia N1 or the Acer Aspire Switch 10? Here is a side-by-side comparison between the two products:

Screen and Display

The Nokia N1 comes with a 7.9-inch IPS LCD touchscreen display that features 2048 x 1536 pixel resolution with 324 ppi pixel density.

Meanwhile, the Acer Aspire Switch 10 has a bigger display which measures 10.1 inches. It has a 1366 x 768 pixel resolution with 155 ppi pixel density.

Under the hood

The N1 from Nokia is equipped with Intel Atom Z3580 64-bit chipset with quad-core processor that has a speed of 2.3 GHz. It also has a PowerVR, G6430 (533 MHz) GPU and runs using the Android 5.0 Lollipop OS.

Meanwhile, Acer's hybrid laptop-tablet comes with an Intel, Atom Bay Trail T chipset with quad-core processor that clocks at 1.5 GHz. It comes preloaded with the Windows 8.1 operating system.

Other features

The Nokia N1 comes with a load of other additional features, including the Nokia Z Launcher, digital microphone, Android apps support, social networking services, and aluminium body design.

The Acer Aspire Switch 10 also comes with added features, including no sim card support, 178 degree wide viewing angle display, optional keyboard dock with 500 GB inbuilt hard disk, social networking services, slim design, Zero Air Gap technology, Acer cloud, Acer snap hinge design, Lumiflex display technology, and sunlight readability.
