Nintendo NX release date, updates, rumors: More details coming out before the year ends

Details about the big reveal for Nintendo NX remains elusive, but new reports claimed that the upcoming platform is going to be unveiled before the end of the year.

WCCFTech spotted a post on Reddit where user GamoTron21 shared an update from Nintendo of Europe representative Ulysse Richert-Botté, claiming that there will be more details revealed about the Nintendo NX before the end of 2016.

According to the post from the Nintendo of Europe rep, the Japanese game studio is not planning to provide more details about the upcoming game platform earlier than the said schedule. They are also putting the release of the platform's technical information on hold.

Richert-Botté also revealed that the tools and development environment information will be unveiled once the new console's development is almost finished to prevent problems for the developers. "Sharing them with a lot of people too early would have created a lot of support work for Nintendo and frustration for developers, so they were shared openly pretty late," the post stated.

While the official announcement from Nintendo might still take a while before it is finally released, speculations claim that the upcoming gaming platform could be a 2-in-1 device because it can serve as a home console and a handheld gadget.

There are also rumors claiming that Nintendo NX will have a 4K support feature, just like the upcoming PlayStation 4 Pro and Xbox Scorpio.

Other reports mentioned that the new gaming platform from Nintendo will come with several game titles upon release, including "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" and one of the Super Mario games.

A leak from the U.K. supermarket chain Tesco mentioned that the device could be sold for £349.99, or about $450 in the U.S. Bundles will also be offered upon the product's release.

Nintendo is expected to reveal more details about the Nintendo NX console in the coming days.
