Nexus 6: Possible release date and specs for latest smartphone

Will this be how Nexus 6 will look like once it becomes available in the market? Facebook

There's hardly any news about Google's Nexus 6, yet gadget watchers are already getting excited over the tech giant's upcoming flagship smartphone as the alleged release date draws nearer.

A report posted on 9to5Google website confirmed that the Nexus 6 is real and not just a concept phone, and one of the chosen network carrier in the US will be T-Mobile. The site also mentioned that it will be released sometime in the last quarter of 2014.

It is also mentioned that a new feature called Wi-Fi calling, supported by the upcoming Android 5, will be included the so-called Nexus 6 package.

Meanwhile, Expert Review reported that Nexus 6, which is also dubbed as Nexus X, will be manufactured by Motorola. Because of this, the new Google device will have the same appearance as that of the Moto X.

According to rumors, the Nexus 6 will come with a 5.2-inch screen just like the Moto X. Other notable features include a powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 chipset with a high CPU speed that can be close to 2.5GHz. It will also have a 13MP primary rear camera as well as a 2.1MP front camera that has several superb capabilities like autofocus, optical image stabilization, and LED flash. The phone will also run with a 32GB internal memory as well as a 3GB RAM.

The Nexus 6 phone will be powered with a 3100 mAh Li-Polymer battery pack, and it can have online connectivity through Wi-Fi, 4G LTE, and Bluetooth 4.0.

There are also reports saying that the Nexus 6 will have a curved LCD display and its casing will come in a very light, polycarbonate body, which is different from the second-generation Moto X.

The International Business Times reported that the phone will have a starting price of $400, and it will possibly be released sometime in October 2014.

Still, Google Inc. has to confirm the reports about Nexus 6 before its actual release date.
