Nexus 6 rumors: New concept image comes with astounding features for Google's next phone

Nexus 4

A new Google Nexus 6 concept image has emerged online, which showcases astounding specs and features.

The latest Nexus 6 render is far from the looks of the rumored Motorola Shamu. The render, created by Teshan Nanayakkara, has a rounded top and bottom form factor.

The new concept image resembles the previous Nexus 4 handset. According to the photo posted on Google+, the handset packs the following features:

  • QHD 5.9 screen display
  • Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 2.7 GHz chipset
  • 3 GB of RAM
  • 32 GB and 64 GB internal storage options
  • Android L operating system
  • 3,200 mAh battery capacity
  • 13 MP rear camera with OIS+
  • 2.1 MP front-facing camera
  • Wireless charging
  • Stereo speakers
  • Active display

Other rumors say much about the same thing about Google Nexus 6, also dubbed as Nexus X. Whispers say that the handset will pack a larger screen panel with 2K display or 1440 x 2560 pixel resolution. The handset will be powered by a quad-core Snapdragon 805 CPU and an Adreno 420 GPU to support high res images and videos. The smartphone will also include a pair of stereo speakers in front, a 13MP rear camera, and a 2.1MP front-facing camera.

Previous rumors stated that the upcoming Nexus smartphone will sport a 5.9-inch screen display. With such massive screen display, there were speculations that the handset will be Google's entry to the phablet category. The handset will follow the lead of its competitors and will include a fingerprint sensor in its smartphone.

The release date of Google Nexus 6 is still unconfirmed, and a lot of dates are emerging which confuses a lot of buyers. Latest reports state that the Nexus 6 will arrive on Oct. 16. Previous rumors claimed that the handset will arrive on Halloween or Oct. 31. It is said that the smartphone will be announced with the Nexus 8 tablet and new Google wearable or Google watch.

However, Google has not confirmed nor denied any of these rumors.
