Console-exclusive games are not much of a thing anymore with people even wanting cross-play support for different consoles. If a game is console-exclusive, fans definitely expect a lot more from it. Sony seems to be trying their best to live up to the hype of their latest "Spider-Man" PlayStation (PS) exclusive game by bringing one talented game developer.

That person is no other than Brian Horton, who has previously worked on "Rise of the Tomb Raider" as a game director and as an art director for "Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare." Joining the game's developers, Insomniac Games, he will be working as a design director starting on the very first day of 2018. He has also expressed his excitement via his Twitter account.

As a design director, Horton will be tasked with providing direction regarding the game's visuals. During the E3 this year, Sony said that the game would be released by the first half of 2018. While it might be too late for Horton to be making any significant changes, it is speculated that Horton may be working on post-game content such as downloadable content (DLC) or expansion packs, as per GameZone.

Horton has had an impressive 20-year track record. Since he first started out, he has worked for Disney Interactive, Electronic Arts, Dreamworks Interactive, The Collective, Vivendi, and Crystal Dynamics. It was in Crystal Dynamics where he then worked on the popular "Tomb Raider" games. Before coming to Insomnia Games, he also worked for Infinity Ward on "Infinity Warfare" and quite possibly the future 2019 "Call of Duty" game, as per Comicbook.

The new "Spider-Man" game is a game that would not be tied to any movie or comic book. The story is presumed to be original, but it will still feature both Spider-Man and Peter Parker. The character, contrary to the latest movie, "Homecoming," will feature an older and more experienced Spider-Man.

There is no release date yet announced for the PS exclusive "Spider-Man" game. If they fulfill their promise of releasing the game before June next year, then an official announcement should come soon.
