For 12 seasons, "NCIS" has never failed to tug the hearts of its viewers, and the upcoming episode will keep with the tradition.
In episode 8 titled "Semper Fortis," Special Agent Leroy Gibbs (Mark Harmon) might have to challenge the system in order to help a female Navy Hospital Corpsman, who is being punished for doing something morally right.
The official synopsis for the episode reads:
"While the NCIS team investigates the cause of a hit and run accident that resulted in the death of a Petty Officer, Gibbs searches for a way to clear a Navy Hospital Corpsman, who has served two medical tours in Afghanistan, after she's indicted for illegally providing medical aid to the victims of the crash, even though the surviving victims swear by her life-saving techniques."
Viewers will see Gibbs find a way to defend the corpsman, who is considered as the hero by several surviving victims of a deadly hit and run, but is charged by the higher ups with unlicensed medical practice because she was not given any instructions to act on the scene.
Knowing Gibbs, he will never let the Afghan war veteran to be charged with something that she thought was the right thing to do, yet he might be taking the case a little bit too personally.
Meanwhile, Special Agent Eleanor Bishop's (Emily Wickersham) husband will finally be introduced in episode 9.
In a spoiler posted by TVLine, Bishop's NSA lawyer husband Jake ("Battlestar Galactica" star Jamie Bamber) will work on a terrorist case with her and Tony DiNozzo (Michael Weatherly) while stuck at Dulles because of foul weather.
In an earlier interview, NCIS showrunner Gary Glasberg discussed Bamber's appearance in the series.
"We've waited a long time to meet Bishop's husband, and we've found him in Jamie Bamber. Jamie is a charming, talented actor, and we're thrilled to have him on-board for this Thanksgiving episode and some exciting surprises to come," Glasberg stated.
"NCIS" season 12 episode 8 airs on Nov. 18, while episode 9 airs on Nov. 25.
