'NCIS' season 13 spoilers news: Taye Diggs joins for 300th episode of series

Expect to see a musically charged installment of "NCIS" season 13, which also marks the 300th episode of the long-running police procedural series.

Regarding the episode titled "Scope," showrunner Gary Glasberg said in a statement shared by TV Guide that the 300<sup>th episode of "NCIS" will feature actor Taye Diggs, who could give life to a character that would represent the wounded heroes of the country.

"This emotionally charged role is tailor-made for Taye Diggs and we are so thrilled and honored to have him join us," Glasberg revealed.

Diggs, who is known for appearing in several Broadway musicals like "Rent" and "Hedwig and the Angry Inch" as well as in movies "How Stella Got Her Groove Back" and "The Best Man," will portray the role of Marine Gunnery Sergeant Aaron Davis, the only survivor of an ambush in Iraq.

The synopsis for the episode reads, "The NCIS team re-examines an ambush on a group of Special Ops snipers in Iraq after an American couple is attacked in the same area six months later. When Gibbs discovers he needs the account of the lone survivor, Marine Gunnery Sergeant Aaron Davis, he tries to connect with the wounded warrior who is being treated for PTSS at Walter Reed Medical Center."

But it seems life Gibbs (Mark Harmon) will have difficulty getting Davis's cooperation since the wounded soldier appears to have a hard time going back to his painful past.

The upcoming episode will also feature a moving performance from the MusiCorps Band, which is described to be a part of the music rehabilitation program that aims to help wounded soldiers deal with their post-traumatic stress disorder.

Laura San Giacomo will return to the series as Grace Confalone.

The 300<sup>th episode of "NCIS" will air on Tuesday, March 15, on CBS.
