'NCIS' season 13 spoilers: DiNozzo's old girlfriend seeks his help in episode 8

Former lovers Jeanie Benoit (Scottie Thompson) and Tony DiNozzo (Michael Weatherly) reunite in the next episode of 'NCIS' season 13. CBS

Tony DiNozzo (Michael Weatherly) will have to deal with a person from his past in the new episode of "NCIS" season 13.

In the upcoming episode dubbed "Saviors," DiNozzo will have to be reunited with his former girlfriend Jeanie Benoit (Scottie Thompson) in Sudan to help save her husband and a group of volunteer doctors after they were kidnapped by insurgents.

Because of this case, DiNozzo and Timothy McGee (Sean Murray) will head overseas to work on the case and join the search party for the missing doctors.

Jeanie was first introduced in the series back in season 4 as an ER resident in Washington, D.C. She and DiNozzo met when Director Shepard (Lauren Holly) ordered him to go on an undercover mission to get close to her to spy on her father, a large-scale arms dealer.

The two had a falling out when she discovered his mission, and when her father was killed, she told the FBI that DiNozzo was the one responsible for his death. Yet Jeanie admitted that she lied to the authorities about DiNozzo's involvement in her father's death because she was deeply hurt when he broke her heart.

When she last appeared in the series, Jeanie told DiNozzo that she wished that she never knew him.

In the upcoming episode, fans of the long-running police procedural series would like to know how the former lovers will work together despite their ugly past.

The official synopsis for the episode reads:

"DiNozzo will get reunited with his ex-girlfriend, Jeanne Benoit, when insurgents in Sudan attack a group of volunteer doctors, including her husband. DiNozzo and McGee are going to travel to the crime scene for the joint murder and kidnapping case and will join the search for the missing doctors."

"NCIS" season 13 episode 8 airs on Tuesday, Nov. 10, on CBS.
